Cifford Conover a.k.a. Kodybear11
Meet Cifford Conover, one of the nine SkyCaddie Members to win at the 2011 Golf Channel Am Tour National Championship. With his victory in 2011, he was the first person in the history of the tour to win three times in a row! Enjoy!

How old are you and what's your occupation?
I am 54 years old and I am the owner of Kody’s Fitness Center and RV Park.

When did you start playing golf and what's your handicap? I started playing golf 44 years ago at the age of 10. My current handicap is 4.

How often do you play? I play 2-3 days a week and practice the rest of the week because my son Kody wants to play daily.

Tell me about a great shot you've made at the Senior National Championship.
On 18th hole of the third round, playing at La Quinta Country Club, with low round of the day on the line, I sank a 15 foot left to right breaking par putt for a 75. I picked up one stroke on the leader Dan from Chicago, so I only started final round one back.

What is your best golf memory from the Senior National Championship?
Truly the hardest job was doing a filming for the Golf Channel. I watch TV better then I do on TV but I will always remember the filming. But, the best golf memory will always be finishing first and completing the first ever three peat for the Golf Channel National Championship.

What is your "home" course?
Roosevelt Utah, a small city course that got me prepared for this tournament, our superintenant has done great job with our course.

What ball do you play? TaylorMade

Favorite pro?
Fred Couples. He always seems in control of himself, plays a great game, and fans love the heck out of him. He's a fine example for kids!

Favorite course you've played at the Senior National Championship?
Greg Norman course at PGA West is probably my favorite. I shot a even par 72 in the 2009 National Championship. TPC Sawgrass was a favorite course also with it’s island green, but my home course has a great island green also.

Dream course you've yet to play?
I do not know of a dream course I must play, I don’t follow courses that much because "dream" courses are probably out of our budget!

Best round ever at the Senior National Championship - and what course?
I shot a 72 at the Greg Norman Course at PGA West in La Quinta California in the first round of the 2009 National Championship.

Give me an example of a time your SkyCaddie saved you a stroke at the Senior National Championship? There is not just one time that the SkyCaddie saved my rearend. It is an asset EACH AND EVERY round of golf. One can adjust the SkyCaddie pin placement on each hole for proper distance and club selection. It’s a great tool to have!

Tell me a story from the Senior National Championship.
Playing the third round of the 2001 Senior National Championship was a battle every inch of the way. I started down two strokes to Dan a champion from Chicago. Dan played a great round of golf, he had me down my 4 strokes with 3 to play on the day when I birdied 16, 17, and saved par on 18 while he went boggie on 16, 17 and 18 what a match it was, I finished 75 he finished 76 for the day, totally fun day. This day set up a great final round where he knew he had competition coming down his throat.
