SG Mobile Scoring App FAQ

Our new SG Mobile Scoring App by SkyGolf for iPhone and iPod Touch is now available from Apple for $.99. You may have a couple questions. Here are the answers. Please feel free to add any additional questions you may have in the forums and we'll add them to the list.

What is the SG Mobile Scoring App by SkyGolf?
The application available for iPhone and iPod Touch owners is a companion scoring app for those who carry their mobile devices on the course with them and would like to track their scores and stats. Scores upload Live to ClubSG so friends and family can track your progress while you're on the course.

How/Where do I buy the app?
You can purchase the app through the App Store on your iPhone or iPod Touch by searching for "SG Mobile" or by downloading it in iTunes HERE.

How much does the app cost?
The application costs a one-time fee of $.99 to download. Current SkyCaddie members have access to the Premium Membership by signing in with their current ClubSG username and password. Non-SkyCaddie members receive access to a FREE Basic ClubSG Membership upon purchasing the application. These individuals can upgrade to a Premium Membership (Buy it here) for $9.95 annually.

I don't live in the USA. Can I buy the app?
Currently the SG Mobile Scoring app is only available in the USA.

I don’t know my Username/Password.
If your a current SkyCaddie member your username and password is the same that you use on the rest of SkyCaddie to login. If you don't know your username and password you can start the retrival process HERE.

What is "Auto" in Statistics Tracked Settings?
"Auto" means that the stat can be calculated by entering other simpler stats. For instance, instead of trying to calculate Scramble % by yourself (the percent of times you score par or better on a whole without having a green in regulation), we can calculate this for you simply by having you enter your strokes and the number of putts you took. Our stat engine will do the rest. By selecting "Auto" stats it means they will display on your end of round stats both in the app and on ClubSG.

Why can't I input a stat after I set it to be tracked? (Ex- I picked GIR, why can't I input GIR?)
A lot of the stats available can be calculated automatically based on a combination of other stats tracked. For instance, GIR (Greens in Regulation), can be calculated by knowing your score on a hole along with the number of putts per hole. We don't actually need you to input the GIR data, we can provide it for you. By selecting GIR as a stat, you are choosing to have it display in your stats after the round and on ClubSG, but you do not need to actually track it during the round. All stats that can be calculated automatically are listed with an "(auto)" beside them in the app.

Why is a score or stats on ClubSG but not my app?
The iPhone app should automatically synchronize all stat settings, scores, and favorite courses with those in ClubSG and on your SkyCaddie. However if you ever find it hasn't picked up recent changes you can go to "Settings" and click the App Data: "Clear" button. This will clear the data stored on the iPhone and get any new data from ClubSG.

What happens if I’m playing a course in a remote area or with an iPod Touch (No Data Connection)?
The app can track your score and stats without a data connection, but does require you to download the course information with a data connection before the round starts. If you think your course may not have a network connection or you're using an iPod Touch, be sure to select "Play Golf" and download your course info before you head for the course. Once you've downloaded the course info you can leave the app and come back without a data connection.

What is a Premium vs Basic Membership?
In short, a Premium Membership can do more. There are more stats, Live Scoring, and advanced privacy features. For more on this please click here.

What happens if I get a phone call or need to leave the app?
You can take the call or do what you want to do outside of the app and come back to continue your round. Don't stay on the phone too long- you're on the golf course!

How do I change users?
If you'd like to login with another SkyCaddie account click "Settings" and then "Change Account." Only the logged in account can view their scores and stats as well as upload their scores and stats.

How do I score for my group?
After selecting "Play Golf" from the Menu, you have the option to change the number of golfers. You can score for up to 4 golfers. Once you start your round, you switch between golfers by tapping "Golfer" in the top line and choosing which person you're scoring for.

Can I upload more than just my score?
Only the score of the logged in ClubSG member will upload Live to ClubSG. Scores of others cannot be seen after the completion of the round.

What is a Private Account?
A private account is an option available to Premium ClubSG Members. It allows you to set your account so only "Friends" can see your scores and stats. If you set your account to Private (Menu->Settings) your scores will only broadcast Live to Friends in ClubSG.

What is App Data "Clear"?

The Course I play isn't listed. What do I do?
If you've used our Course Search feature and couldn't find your course you can email us at clubsg@skygolf.com to request it be added. Make sure to include the name and address of your course so we can verify its existence.

My tees I play aren't listed. What do I do?
Every course page in ClubSG has a link to "Edit Data" in the left hand navigation bar. Click "Edit Data" and add info you may have. The 4th tab is where you can enter tee and hole information.

How do I make a course a favorite?
You can make a course favorite on ClubSG by going to the course page and clicking "Add To My Courses" on the left hand navigation bar. You can also add a course to Favorites after finding the course on the device (Menu->Find Courses) and tapping the "Star +" icon in the upper right corner of the app. Favorites are synced between the app and your SkyGolf.com profile.
