Mount Mitchell Golf Course

Mount Mitchell GC once received 4.5 stars in Golf Digest's "Places to Play" and has also ranked among the top ten public-access courses in North Carolina.

Very scenic and very well kept course. Little on the steep side but its well worth it. Staff was extremely friendly. Just all around great golf course

Played the course three times in a weekend outing. Extremely beautiful scenery and the personnel are very friendly. Pace of play is attributed to the restriction of carts to the paths, and the back and forth from cart to ball can extend the normal round times. A lot of patchy fairways and very soft areas (thus the cart restrictions).

The greens are old and now play very slow. I love this golf course because it is playable even for high handicappers. Can be tough if you cant keep it in the fairway. A great place for a weekend golf trip with your best friends.
