Thistle Golf Club is a high-end 27-hole facility on the Grand Strand. Thistle takes its name from the ca.-1800s Scottish golf society of the same name and likewise, Tim Cates's course design intentionally echoes a Scottish links feel, with surrounding hillsides covered in heather and wild flowers.

At least three teaching professionals are available at this facility, includes 18-year LPGA tour player Marlene Floyd, sister of PGA Tour star Raymond Floyd. She hosts a "For Women Only Golf School" several times each year.

Rates range between $55 and $120 depending on the season and time of day.

This course has an amazing layout and a lot of character. Each hole is really nice. We were surprised that the fairways were still just turning green in mid-April. We were expecting the fairways to be plush and green. A few more weeks and it should be perfect. One of the nicest and coolest clubhouses you will ever see. They had the price at $45 the day we played and I assume it was because the course still wasn't in perfect condition.

Very nice course. It was a little dry when we played but overall in great condition. Very nice staff and pace of play was very good.

In my opinion this is not up to the Myrtle Beach experience.

In my opinion, this is a must play when in the Myrtle Beach area. Agree with bubbagolf, this course is good test of golf and playing the correct tees will make your round more enjoyable. Definitely in the top 10 of Myrtle Beach golf courses.

One of the best the Myrtle Beach area has to offer. Well worth it, and my group will be back for years to come.

One of the nicest courses in Myrtle Beach (and I have played almost all of the top courses - Barefoot, TPC, etc...) - you will NOT be disappointed

Make time to play 27, they have 3 nines, all a good test. Make sure you play the correct tees, this is a tough track.
