Located on the B197 north of Stevenage, Chesfield Downs features a relatively open 18-hole course designed by architect Jonathan Gaunt. The Lannocks Links par-3 course is also available.

The standard walking rates are £23 Mondays through Thursdays, £25 Fridays, and £30 on weekends and bank holidays. (Carts/buggies are £18.) Junior, twilight, and guest-of-member discounts are available, as are memberships.

First game for 12 years, thoroughly enjoyable and I certainly made it a challenge. Excellent drainage, greens a tad bumpy, but overall very good.

Played on their open day so it was probably busier than normal, but fees were reduced, though we didn't know that when booking.
Nice looking clubhouse and a course that is a nice challenge to play with plenty of variety. Bit hilly but not too bad.
