I bought the SW2 as it didndt need an annual subscription.

Yesterday when I got to my club it came up with a message to renew at Sky Golf Website and would not work. This was on the day of a competition and was annoying to say the least. Anyone else have these issues? Accordomg to my account I am renewed till 2020

Shaun,

Renewing the SW2 is a 2 step process. The first step is to renew the membership, in which it looks like you were successful. The 2nd step is to sync the SW2 with our website which can be done by either connecting the watch to the computer and clicking the "sync" button on our website, or by using the Bluetooth functionality with our smartphone app "SkyGolf 360".
