serious error even after a hard reboot

I did not plug my sgx to the power source to charge the battery a long time ago (may be 5 years).
When I plug it to try to charge the battery, I got the X sign on my screen and nothing else whatever I perform (even hard boot: power + joystick).

I seriously suspect a dead battery after these years of not being charged. Do you think I am right because my SGX has been used only once in my life (purchased in 2011) and it was working. It is not damaged, it is like new, it has been stored correctly.
So with this X sign, my computer can t find my SGX (it has been registered).
DO you think I need to replace the battery in this case can you tell me what is the procedure and the price to do that (sending you my sgx I guess) if it is the problem. Thank you in advance. Best

Hi
I am living in France, this skycaddie SGX has been purchased in US but registered in my account and used ONCE.

I tried to perform the factory reset as well but it didn work, I still have the "X" sign displayed.

I read lots of comments on this item and this specific problem from social forum .

I am really surprised about the issues of such an item.

Do yo have any suggestion to solve my problem please?

The battery has been replaced by a new one but the problem remains
