RORY MCILROY IS ENGAGED

Rory McIlroy and tennis star Caroline Wozniacki are engaged. The "Holywood Matinee Idol" decided to pop the question in Sydney, New South Wales, where he earned his only on-course victory in 2013.

And now he has an off-course victory.

Wozniacki's injured right shoulder forced her to withdraw from the Brisbane International in Queensland, but expects to play in next week's Sydney International, as well as the first major tennis championship of the year, the Australian Open in Melbourne.

And as with Paula Creamer and Natalie Gulbis, we sincerely wish Rory and Caroline all the best and a happy and prosperous marriage.

It would also be good for golf if Rory has a more prosperous 2014 on then course than he had in 2013.
