Tee-shot onlyArnold Palmer will not be participating in the Wednesday Par-3 Contest at Augusta National Golf Club next week. The 85-year-old living legend of golf suffered a dislocated shoulder back in December and, understandably, does not have the ability to play the event pain-free. However, Golf Channel reports that Palmer will still take part in the ceremonial tee-shots. Golf Channel also said that it was unclear whether or not Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player would play the par-3 contest with a different third partner, or go off as a twosome. Tiger to practice Friday: ReportGolf Channel also reports that Tiger Woods has been spotted on the practice range at Augusta National this morning. While Woods has said nothing, Golfweek reported that Woods shot a 74 during a Tuesday practice round. Woods is said to have carded five birdies, but that he "hit several indifferent chips, including one that went through the green and into a bunker."Be that as it may, 2012 U.S. Open champion Webb Simpson said he noticed nothing amiss with Tiger physically:
Simpson also added this clever thought: "I don't care what he says, he loves the suspense. If he's coming, he knows he's coming already. He loves keeping everyone on the edge of their seat."Woods certainly has accomplished that already. Have you seen an interesting golf story? Tell us about it!
