Hello ClubSG Members,
I'm "The Wedge Guy" and it's nice to join you in ClubSG.
In the real world, I'm Terry Koehler, President of EIDOLON Golf. We're a small company making what I believe are the most extraordinary wedges in the game today. I hope to have a chance to prove that to you soon. I've spent my whole life with this wonderful game and almost 30 years in the golf equipment industry, and my goal here is to share as much of what I've learned with you every week as I possibly can.
Starting Friday, I'll be here twice a week sharing my insight into equipment and scoring, shotmaking and troubleshooting. The format is simple. On Fridays, my post will be about something I observe about this game that keeps golfers them from scoring their best, or just sounding off on golf topics which I find interesting -- equipment trends. Current events. Whatever comes to mind.
And every Tuesday, I’ll be answering a question from one of you – and we’ll be giving a FREE EIDOLON V-SOLE wedge away to that lucky reader every week. There is no limit to the number of questions you can offer up for consideration, so get to writing!
I want to know . . . what you want to know. Whether it’s about wedges or any other equipment. Technique or playing tips, course management . . . whatever is on your mind. You send in your question and I’ll do my best to answer it in a helpful manner. There’s a link to “Ask The Wedge Guy” at the bottom of every post or you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
My goal here is to give you things to think about and work on, and hopefully help you shave strokes and have more fun. When I start in on a topic, I encourage all of you to chip in with your input and insight to the subject at hand. I’m sure that we have a treasure trove of golf skill and talent in this group, so share with your buddies, OK?
I am honored to be invited to bring “The Wedge Guy” bi-weekly blog to ClubSG, as you are no doubt a select group of serious golfers. So, let me know what’s on your mind with regard to the game of golf, playing it better or just having more fun, and we’ll get started.
See you Friday with “Round 1”.

Hello Wedge Guy (Terry), Let me be one of the first to welcome you to Club SG. I think your presence will be great for the members of Club SG and really great publicity for your company. I must admit, I have never heard of your company before but that does not say a lot since the majority of the time you hear about the major distributor of golf equipment.
I took a minute to visit your site and learn a little more about your wedges. I'm not clear on what makes your wedges stand out and more importantly, why are you charging more than the number 1 wedge on the market. It seems to me that everyone is pricing their equipment at or around the same price point. If this is the case, are we as consumers being ripped-off from the name brand manufactures? Yourself included.
So what's so different or great about your product that allows you to be more expensive or price at the major manufactures price points? Is this how you cover the "no cost guarantee"?
Thanks and welcome to Club SG.....
Hi Jrboy, and thanks for posting the first comment. You ask some great questions, and I think they make a great topic for Friday's post, because there is just isn't enough room here. Watch for it!
As to the "cost" of our guarantee, I'll tell you it is negligible, as we just don't get any back (less than 1%), and those that do are re-sold to our local high school players at a discount. I'll always refrain from extolling the competitive virtues of EIDOLON V-SOLE wedges here -- this isn't the place for that -- but invite you and any others to send me an email and we'll call you personally to answer any questions you have.
Thanks for giving us a great launch.
Hey Wedge Guy and thanks for coming to ClubSG. You always hear about the bounce in Wedges can you help out and give a brief expanation to how bounce on a wedge can effect your wedge play? Thanks
The wedge guy is here!!!! .. very cool .. Terry as a long time member of OOB golf .. ( over 150 rounds posted) i say welcome to you .. i came over to club sg because i bought the SGX and wanted to take advantage of the "oob" tracking that i love .. and the sgx makes it easy ..
So, Ive never asked a question .. this will be my first and hope it gets answered .. I ended last year as an 8.8 handicap and its ballooned up to almost 13 now Yikes!! i know what my issue is but i cant get over the hump so to speak .. I use a 3/4 swing which works great for me as it keep everything in front ..anyway .. my issue seems to be the transition to the downswing .. i find myself coming over the top and turning my shoulders instead of doing what i was doing last year .. shifting weight and sliding the hips to come from the inside .. i have the downswing yips and i cant break them .. on some pitch shots and chips im fine .. what do you think i can do to fix this .. thanks and welcome again ..
