This was Seth Raynor's only design in North Carolina; it opened with nine holes in 1915 as "Green Park-Norwood Golf Course," while the second nine debuted in 1922. The club renovated Raynor's original nine in 1973.

This has been a private country club in 1950; visitors are permitted only as guests of members.
