Most of the course is in a lovely little valley with a few holes changing elevation. The greens had just been plugged (April), so I can't talk about the greens. The fairways were in great shape. The people I met were fantastic - they understand the meaning of hospitality!

Breathtaking views from a number of areas. Boone Golf Club is an Ellis Maples (father of Dan at Pinehurst) design and is a supreme public course. Limited season due to weather (generally late-March-November) but well worth the trip. Enormous greens (around 11 on a Stimpmeter) and lush bent grass fairways; generous recovery areas and meticulously maintained. Tom Adams runs one of the best courses in NC.
