It is a nice course with a decent layout and a very unique horse shoe Par 5. I think once they get the greens into shape it will be a very nice course. The greens were OK but a little thin, the rest of the course was in great shape!!!

The course is on land previously used for a horse farm. The old track is evident in several places on the front nine since the rails are still in place. That adds a unique character to the course. Of the four courses our group played on a recent outing to this part of NC, Longleaf was my favorite.

Longleaf's front nine is more links type golf, while the back nine is more American stlye type courses. Wide fairwasy and big greens will make this an enjoyable round. The back nine has a lot of elevations changes and plus has 3 short par 3's. An enjoyable stop when in Pinehurst.
