It is really sad that the owner will not invest any money in what could be one of the nicest courses in eastern North Carolina. Beautiful eastern NC scenery with tall moss laiden pines and other follage along the river, tee boxes set to challenge every level of golfer, good to excellent greens, friendly staff, but...the fairways are near barren of grass in large areas! We were hitting off dirt, sand and clay in the middle of the fairways!!! Needs to close down for a couple of months, plow up fairways, drop loads of fresh sod and replant grass. No doubt in my mind would make up the months of lost business when it re-opens after the grass in the fairways grows in! Otherwise pass this one by and go up the road to New Bern, down to Jacksonville or west to Kinston/Snow Hill.
