Thistle Golf Club is a high-end 27-hole facility on the Grand Strand. Thistle takes its name from the ca.-1800s Scottish golf society of the same name and likewise, Tim Cate's course design intentionally echoes a Scottish links feel, with surrounding hillsides covered in heather and wild flowers.

At least three teaching professionals are available at this facility, includes 18-year LPGA tour player Marlene Floyd, sister of PGA Tour star Raymond Floyd. She hosts a "For Women Only Golf School" several times each year.

Rates range between $55 and $120 depending on the season and time of day.
