Brookside Country Club is a private, member-owned country club and one of the oldest established clubs in the area which originally took form as "Lakeside Country Club" in the last decade of the nineteenth century. Donald Ross was the original designer of the course here (ca. 1923). Over the years, parts of the course deteriorated, but some restoration work in 2003, it was named "Best New Remodel" in Golf Digest magazine in 2005.
