Played Course on 6/3/14 and sand traps were in terrible shape, full of rocks and clay. The traps need some good quality sand in them. Great course, just needed some better maintenance. Halfway house was closed the day we played, with no notice from the pro shop of the closure.

I played Foxfire Players Club for the first time on September 11, 2012. It had been given a 4 star rating on Golflink.
I do not agree with the rating. While the layout is interesting and a Kidwell design, the course has fallen on hard times. The fairways were burned, the tee boxes full of weeds, there were absolutely no ball washers on any hole, the hole signage was beaten up and unreadable and the halfway house closed. There was only one port-o-potty on the front nine - nothing on the back.
I saw plenty of greenskeepers out and about but apparently they have not gotten ahead of mother nature in the maintenance of the course. The greens were in good shape and the saving grace of the course. Despite the great layout and greens, I will not return because of the overall poor condition.
