This club has two Donald Ross-designed courses; the South Course debuted in 1918 and has hosted a long string of major championships and events, including:

  • 2004 Ryder Cup Matches (Europe 18½ - United States 9½)
  • 2008 PGA Championship (Pádraig Harrington)

Less famous is the the shorter North Course, a Ross design that debuted in 1924. Oakland Hills is a private club; visitors are permitted only as invited guests of members.
