This old-school oceanside course features an attractive blend of parkland and links golf with views of the Pacific Ocean, Point Pinos Lighthouse, Crespi Pond, and Asilomar's natural sand dunes. The first nine debuted in 1932 with a design by 1904 and 1905 U.S. Amateur champion Chandler Egan and plays through the forested areas of Pacific Grove. Egan's nine takes you through inland terrain reminds of English rural courses. The second nine opened in 1960 and was designed by Pebble Beach co-designer Jack Neville.

  MAGIC CHEF - 9/6/19
Played 9/1/19, great day as it was a little overcast. High handicappers will like the course as some of the holes are pretty short. Fairways were in pretty good shape and the greens were pretty good as well. People in the Pro Shop were very helpful with telling you things you would like to know about the course. Will play again as soon as possible

Spectacular Monterey Bay views on the back nine. A lovely little gem that isn't overly difficult, but makes for a beautiful day of seaside golf.
  zaper9 - 6/18/15
back nine is worth the trip.
  bpdurkin - 9/13/14
tee boxes A little rough. greens a tad bumpy but roll true. back nine has gorgeous views on a clear day of Monterey bay

I have played here several times. It is a fun course. You get what you pay for. I recommend walking. As stated by everyone the back nine is worth your money

The front nine leaves a little to be desired but the back nine is as good as many of the surrounding ocean courses for a fraction of the costs.
  ditchrunner63 - 9/19/12
Great value. the whole back nine is on the Bay.
  JRB1 - 6/22/12
Front 9 is a cheap Muni, back nine is a beautiful experience.
  Da Lawn Mower - 3/5/12
Starter is bitter, food is over priced
  Gerryball - 12/6/11
Best place to play in Monterey for the price. Would play there everyday.

Known as the "poor man's Pebble Beach," the Pacific Grove lynx boasts two nine-hole courses in one! The front is inland with lots of trees; the back is an ocean style lynx course. Lots of fun, relatively short, but somewhat challenging. Foprgiving for older golfers and high handicappers; distance and accuracy are less important in PG!
  Kohldsmoke - 8/13/11
The front nine is ordinary, the back nine is wonderful. The staff we met were all very friendly and happy to chat with us. Worth playing, especially at the price point.

played sat, 13th, got to play with 2 great locals Erwin, Jane. they knew the course well as they get to play here all the time. thank you... now the course on the front 9 had the green get burned by fertilizer in may and now are looking a lot better. just a few tiny patches left to heal but the pin placements make it better. the back 9 is to die for as there are so many great holes along the beach with view that golfers just a couple of miles away are paying 500.00 to see. this course is definitely one of the best munis on the west coast. if your in the area its must play for the price. and the pace of play for us on sat was good. we started at 3pm and got in just about 7:15 just a tick over 4hrs... the course has a great clubhouse and pro shop too. the driving range is good too, theres 2 putting areas to warm up on. and the 1st hole is a 150yd par 3 which kinda makes getting started easier. don't forget your camera if you come as there are awsome pics to be had... Again the course has healed well and is worth playing now for sure.... Smilin Steve.....
