I used to play this course about 12 years ago when i was on the Wilson Highschool golf team. It was our home course then and was actually pretty nice. Since then they've hosted the Lehigh Valley Amateur and raised their prices quite significantly......i don't know why either have happened.
I've payed less for much nicer courses in the area. The fairways and rough are not very well maintained. The rough is patchy at best and the fairways - though they have all their grass - are just shorter versions of the rough so it doesn't really matter where you hit your ball on this course, as long as you're not under a tree. The greens have ball marks all over them. Slower than molasses too and inconsistent speeds over the course of 18 holes.
I'm not too keen on the hospitality of the place either. I felt like the staff was staring me down wherever i walked. Also, after a parching 9 holes and finding there is no longer drinking water on the course, i had to find out from another group that there is supposed to be "complementary" water given to me when i checked in. You should have seen the look when i went in to ask for that.
Scenery wise, it's the same as any other course. very green and full of trees. Which is nice because there's not a lot of dead grass, just patches that dont' have any in places. The toilet bowl blue, man made concrete "pond" is a nice touch and adds a little flair to an otherwise flat and uninteresting track. It sits about 5 feet off the front of the 14th green, well out of reach from the tee and not nearly menacing enough at 20 feet across, to be a factor to anything but a duffed shot.
I wouldn't pay any more than $40 peak fee with a cart and that's being generous. The $56 they do charge is outrageous in my mind considering i can drive another 10- 15 minutes in either direction and play a course head and shoulders above this one in Easton or Bethlehem -- for the same price if not cheaper.
