A private, exclusive country club with the charm of an old-fashioned golf course atmosphere, Philmont's greatest assets have always been its golf courses. The famed North Course, designed by legendary architect William S. Flynn, is well known for its immaculate condition and fast greens. Under superintendent Joe Owsik's long-term plan, new improvements are keeping the course up-to-date. Expanded bent grass tees have just been completed. Ongoing projects with bunkers, cart paths, bridges, tees and irrigation make Philmont North a popular site for tournaments and outings. But don't think the South Course, designed by Willie Park Jr., is a weak sister. Although the "South" may not be quite as difficult, the condition is just as good as the North Course and its greens are even more treacherous. Just ask any member.

Philmont’s 9th hole on the North Course was listed in the Top 100 Holes in America by Golf Magazine. Philmont has hosted numerous GAP, PA, USGA, and Philadelphia section events and previously hosted two NIKE Tour Events. The course record for the North Course is 63 held by Tom Pernice Jr. during the first NIKE event.
