The course is in poor condition, it used to be a very nice couse many years ago when i played high school golf (70"s), i don't see me returning any time soon.

This course has all the things you would want in a challenging course, and really is a fun course to play, however the course has been neglected and is in much need of a new maintainence plan. There is no consistency from green to green. Some greens were so soggy that one of my approach shots actually plugged beneath the surface of the green, while other greens were dried out and dying. The speed of putts were close to molasses if you were measuring the stimp.
The course staff cut the greens, fairways and tee boxes while we were there and no one ever bothered to replace yardage markers or tee markers. The grass clippings were so thick around the edges of greens that it was ridiculous. We actually had to move clumps of clippings off the green to putt our line. There were so many divots on some of the putting surfaces that you had to spend 5 mins fixing a path to the hole, due to golfers who either dont care or dont respect the game.
My biggest complaint about Summersett is that they dont have a decent practice area. Their practice green was 50% mud with zero turf and was closed as it has been over the last 3 years that we have visited the club. I dont see how they maintain a viable membership there, because I wouldn't pay $10 a month to be a member under the current course conditions. The staff is friendly and the pro shop is adequate, but they need to put some dollars back into the course. Its a shame to see a course with that much potential in such bad shape.
The club was running a special for $20 for the month of August, so playing there was a good value, but I wouldn't pay full price for the current conditions.
