This 27-hole facility is located southwest of Barrie in Simcoe County, and opened in 1966 as Royal Downs with 18 holes (now the Central and South nines). The Island 9 debuted in 2009. The practice facilities include a warm-up net, two full-size putting greens, and a separate chipping green with a practice bunker.

The standard walking rate is C$55 (carts are C$13). Junior, senior, sliding twilight, and early-bird discounts are offered.

Nice track, decent condition. Greens on South nine are distinctly small and some of them are tough to putt. Most par 4s on all 3 nines are short - only 3 are longer than 350 yds from the blue tees. Friendly staff. Course hosts 27-hole open events that are well organized and good value.
