Bunkers are mostly dirt, very little sand; the rough is heavy, USOpen like, no first cut; greens are generally slow but true; tees need work

Overall The Town of Colonie G.C. is a good golf course, especially when considering it's a muni course that gets a lot of play.
It is reasonably priced and the people that work there are good to deal with. The course does get very crowded so the pace of play is almost always slow. 4.5 to 5 hour rounds are common. The course conditions are not that great but are okay. That may be due to the amount of play it gets.
Chipshots (the 19th hole) has good food and service.

One of the best public courses in the Capital District . There are fairway traps , greenside bunkers and plenty of water hazards to challenge you . This course is not designed to make play faster . It is designed to challenge you , and scratch your golfing itch in every way .
