For a municipal course, Don Valley is a great place to golf. I played around here instead of sitting at my car dealership for 8 hrs waiting for some work to be done, and I was really impressed.
I didn't feel that the green fee's were in line with the quality of the course, (I can golf a pristine course in Niagara for their rates) but I understand that the price of everything in the "big city" is higher.
My 10:26 tee time took me 5 hrs to walk.
The employees were more than friendly and made my experience very pleasant.
To my surprise - the course surrounds you with wildlife and vegetation and you loose yourself and forget that you're playing in Canada's most populous / biggest city.
The next time my car needs service, I certainly won't hesitate to return to Don Valley GC.
