This 18-hole course hosted the 2002 Irish PGA Championship, as well as Rory McIlroy's first senior national win - the Irish Amateur Close Championship in 2005. While Frederick W. Hawtree's design here is technically a parkland-style layout, a tremendous amount of open terrain affords excellent views of Croagh Patrick and Clew Bay.

The course is located in the Carrowholly area west of the town of Westport. Visitors are welcome; the high-season (April-September) walking rates are €25 on weekdays, then €35 on weekends and bank holidays (carts are €25).
