This was the last of the "Top 5" courses you can play in the state of CT for me and it did not disappoint. The clubhouse/practice area were up there with the best I've ever seen. Although, for the quality of the greens and pitching/bunker areas, I would think they'd have a grass range instead of mats. Besides that little issue, it reminded me of something Trump would have put together, large clock and all.
I thought the course was in great shape. The greens were rolling purely, and the rest of the course was well maintained and what you would expect for the price. I did find it challenging and relatively long, even from the whites. However, we've had so much rain in the area including some today, so that lengthened the course. You definitely need to be accurate, as hazards come into play often.
All in all, I definitely want to play great river again, hopefully on a day with better weather.

Nice course in good condition, but for $140 you expect that. Practice facility is top notch. Head Pro does not allow SkyCaddie to map the course, and he is belligerent towards SC for whatever reason - but then he is not handing out yardage books either. As a first timer at this course that was a serious annoyance, especially when my best drive of the day went into water over a hill I did not know was there. Greens were slower than I would expect from a top course. Nice scenery and some cool holes, much preferred the back 9. The 1st hole par 3 is a very akward start for a "Championship" layout. Need to hit it straight off the tee here. Nice experience but honestly was expecting something better.

SkyCaddie is not available at Great River. The course has not been upgraded since the front and back nines were reversed. I requested that Sky
Caddie be upgraded after my round but it seemed to fall on deaf ears.

Spectacular for a public course. I drove 3-1/2 hour to play there in the rain and can't wait to go back. Super friendly and accomodating. Club house is superb. This is a must for any golfer.
