Golf has been played here since 1915, when a few enterprising people designed a short course with sand greens. The original nine holes were grassed and irrigated in the late 1930s as a WPA project, while the second nine came along in 1964. The late architect Robert Muir Graves completely redesigned the course, which opened on August 11, 1978.

The summer walking rate for the Championship Course is $63, although multi-player, twilight, and shoulder-season discounts are available. The shorter nine-hole "Cameron Course" is also available.
