Three visits to Almenara and all good. Nice friendly resort. Easy to get to from Gibraltar. The resort courses are good and interesting. I'd be happy if they were in Berkshire!! Recommended.

Just back from 10 days there. Better than average Costa 27 hole layout. Very understocked Pro Shop! Some very good holes and some poor ones to be honest! I liked the Alcornoques loop best as there is more variety and better design.some holes elsewhere are dull and narrow (eg 9 on Lagos!) Pro shop staff were a bit miserable (stressed?) and there were no marshalls on the course, so some gamestood ages! Buggy is a must as long walk to tees/greens and between the loops

I still find this the toughest course that I have played on after 18 months of playing it. It is at least 3 shots more difficult than an average course in the UK. Most holes have OOB on one side and lateral water hazard on the other so you have to be straight. The course also plays quite long with soft fairays that don't give you any roll if you hit the ball high. Sometimes it is over watered and can get wet even in the summer.
