NCR Country Club opened in 1954 just ouside Dayton with two courses, both designed by notable architect Dick Wilson and both owned and operated as a private club by the National Cash Register Employees Benefit Association, a non-profit group.

The award-winning South Course is genuinely of championship caliber; in addition to hosting the 2013 USGA Women's State Team Championship, it has hosted the following very notable events:

• 1969 PGA Championship (Raymond Floyd)
• 1986 USGA Women's Open (Jane Geddes in a playoff)
• 1998 USGA Men's Mid-Amateur (John "Spider" Miller)
• 2005 USGA Men's Senior Open (Allen Doyle)

The North Course is a "prairie-links" layout and, at 6,828 yards (par-70), it is no slouch, either.
