This attractive course debuted in 1921 with a design by the Scottish-American architect Tom Bendelow. Following a terrible flood in 1996, the club retained architect Steve Forrest (of Arthur Hills' firm) to redesign and update the course, and to make major improvements to drainage and storm-water management. The redesign turned out so well that NCC's re-born course won at least two major awards after it officially re-opened on May 3, 2008.
