Spencer G&CC was formed back in 1906 and moved to the current site in 1963, with a design by David A. Gill, father of architect Garrett Gill. Walking saves a $15 cart fee, while playing with a member also reduces the fee.

Non-club-member residents of Spencer are allowed access to the golf course once a year as the guest of a member (excluding open tournaments). No access restrictions exist for golfers who live more than six miles away from Spencer.
