Ok, I'm going to try to be brief. Don't play here!
The golf course has obviously been neglected over the years and is in poor shape. Large areas of the fairway are completely burned out, the greens were aerated two months ago and have not healed, and many of the tee areas are in need of repair. The rates they charge here are the same as many of the other top quality courses in this area.
On top of poor conditions and high rates, the staff at this facility is horrible. We had a mid-morning Sunday tee time, so suffice to say that the course was fairly crowded and pace of play was slow (partially because the pro-shop had lots of twosomes on the course and had not combined groups in order to space groups out). After a few holes, we realized that one of the players in the twosome ahead of us was playing two balls. Not just once in a while, but two totally seperate balls from tee to green. Meanwhile, we are waiting on EVERY shot.
When we caught up to them at the next tee, we asked them to please only play one ball. They got totally bent and actually cussed us out. So we walked away and when we saw the marshall a bit later we explained what had happened and asked him to watch that group. He told us that we should just relax and enjoy the nice weather! What a jerk.
So here is my advise - DONT PLAY FAIRWAY HILLS. It is overpriced, undermaintained, and the staff are idiots.
