This club dates to 1900 with the original course (Sabot) designed by the legendary A.W. Tillinghast, although Arthur Hills oversaw a renovation in 2000. The Manakin 18 originally opened in 1973 with a design by Edmund B. Ault, although Keith Foster oversaw a major redesign in 2005. The club is also a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.

Hermitage CC hosts a busy schedule of golf events, including qualifying for the 2015 U.S. Women's Open.

This is my home course so I may be a bit bias. Lots of trouble with the water holes including 3 of the par 3's.
emjoyable to play. hermitage staff do a great job.
Some problem with the duck droppings on the 17th and 18th fairways during the late fall.
