Very breezy (20 mph or so), mostly sunny and cool - in the 60's.
Course was in decent shape with firm fairways and moderately rolling greens.
Each birthday I head out to a Metro Park course for a free round of golf. This time around my wife wanted to meet her family out in Battle Creek so we drove out Friday and spent the night. I was lured out there by the promise of 18 holes at Battle Creek Country Club on Saturday morning. Well, I couldn't get the two uncles out of the house until 10am and then they decided they only wanted to play 9 holes. Sigh.
We got home around 3:30 and I decided to heck with it, I was going to get my free round. I raced out to the course, started on the back nine and was really moving (had to get home for birthday dinner with the grand kids). I was out of sync the entire time. Too much going on in the brain that was not golf-related. While I carded a few birdies, the round was filled with mis-hits, wayward drives, pop-ups, etc... Very unsatisfying. But dinner was fun so it all evens out.
