I hustled out to the course to try to be the first one off at about 9:45am. I succeeded. About 37 degrees warming to 40, sunny and just a slight breeze of less than 5 mph. Greens were mostly frozen and only thawed out a bit for the back nine. Made for some tough approach shots and chips. Once putting, the speeds were moderately slow but the ball rolled true. Took a cart and played in 2 hours and got to the office at 12:30.
I was hitting my driver very well but the temperature made carrying certain swales, bunkers and other obstacles a bit more dicey. Ball striking was adequate for the most part. Chipping was tough, as I mentioned before. Putting was tough because of the slow speeds. Had several lip outs and couldn't make a 3-5 footer all day.
Hey, it is the middle of November, sunny and no snow. Things could be a lot worse.
