Hooked up with Jordan, from Stratford. He was a big hitter, but consistency was his drawback. Nice guy.
Played pretty well until the last two holes when some young kid joined us so he could finish before dark. Lost concentration and hit the only bad shots of the round. Otherwise, happy with play considering I wasn't familiar with the course. Played it once a few years back, but couldn't really remember it well enough to know the bounces.
Hit driver pretty straight. Irons too. Hit many hybrids today, all good until the 17th when I mishit one that only made it about 150 yards. Unfortunately it was on a 450 yard par 5. Was hoping to get it close in two, instead had 90 yards for my third, which I also mishit with a wedge leaving it past the green on the right. Made a decent flop to about 7 feet, but missed the par saver. I deserved bogey on that hole considering how poorly I hit the hybrid and then the wedge approach.
Greens were in good shape, but not as fast as ours at OG. Putted fairly well. Only one 3-putt. Hit pin on 2 chips, but both ricocheted off about 4 or 5 feet. Best shot of day was 180 yard choked down 3H approach on 16th. Hit it to 7 feet but missed birdie putt. Actually wimped out and left it 2 feet short. At least I made par.
Happy with play, for the most part.
