Played with Rich, his brother in law, Ed, and Bob. Actually played a little better today though the score does not reflect that. Got into trouble a few times which resulted in penalties and had trouble sinking easy putts. Not knowing the course resulted in at least 4 or 5 situations which added unnecessary strokes. One particular was a par 5 that I hit a beautiful 3H about 195 yards directly on target, over some very high growth in a marshy area, to an area I thought was dead center fairway. When I got to the intended spot, I saw that the water hazard to the right jutted out into the fairway at that exact location. Had to take a penalty. It was typical of the day. Hit lots of decent shots but rarely got much satisfaction. On the par 4 16th, put my approach shot into left greenside bunker. TOOK ME 4 SHOTS TO GET OUT! Really deep, thick sand. Went under the ball three times with my 56* before finally getting out and close to pin for a 1 putt to save a triple bogey. I don't think that has ever happened since I've been playing the game. 4 strokes to get out? Seriously? Even so, enjoyed the group I played with. Nice course too. Private. Well maintained. Nice fairways and greens.
