Now THAT'S more like it. Wow. Great round, albeit from the whites on a fairly docile course. Played with Mare for our final round in Florida this trip, plus two real nice guys from Minnesota, Don and Dan. I will remember this one for awhile. I was so confident, right from the start. I putted lights out until the last couple holes when it was virtually dark. Was going to quit after 16 due to the darkness, but had such a good round going that all the others in the foursome were rooting for me. Had a hard time with the last two holes. Doubled the 17th with a three-putt as the greens got slower with dampness from the night air. But, then after an errant drive into the adjacent fairway on the par 5 18th (I could barely see my ball on the tee it was so dark), somehow, I hit a 3H out in front of the green, a good chip and two putt for a 2-over 38 on the back. After the 12th hole and 3 1-puuts in a row, Dan asked me seriously if I was a scratch golfer. That felt almost as good as today's round did. A great round on which to end the vacation. 12 pars and a birdie (with only one double, which was pretty much partially due to the dark)! Damn, I shot a 95 last week. This game is crazy. Worst news, after shooting my best score, my handicap went UP!
