Tough day. Heavy rain and thunderstorms all night into mid-morning, soaking the course, on top of winds gusting well into the 20s. Course played about 400 yards longer. Even when I clubbed up, I still came up short on a number of shots. Hit a PW into the wind on 9th from 93 yards out and came up 10 yards short of the green. For the hell of it, I dropped another ball and tried the same shot with a 9i, into the same wind and STILL came up short! 93 freakin' yards! Hit both shots pretty well...or so I thought.
The greens were not fast and had little slope. After yesterday's super fast greens these seemed like molasses. Never even came close to 3-putting. That kept the score down. Just had distance problems in the wind off the tee and on many approaches. This course is pretty docile when the wind is light and the ground is dry. Only played here today because of the weather forecast, which was calling for rain and thunderstorms all afternoon. Figured if I got rained out it wouldn't be a big deal. Only cost me $25 to play. It started pouring when I finished, but I didn't get a drop until the 18th.
DougEly says:Very easy slope rating of 116, but thanks CeeBee, I did alright in the crappy conditions.
