Had a rough start. Couldn't get things going 'til the 5th. Doubled the 3rd, with two penalties. Then put approach on 4th into lateral hazard on left after drive way left to unfriendly lie. Really struggled. Kept pulling everything. On 5, hit a draw off the tee, but went too far left....again. Punched a 6 iron out through the trees, landed it 20 feet from pin, then 1 putted for bird. Lucky bird. On 6, left again, though had a clear shot at pin. Hit a 60* wedge a little fat and came of short of green. Chipped to 2' for up & down par. Caught fire on the back. Par, bird, bird, par to start. Then hit a 295 yard drive on 14---longest so far this year, maybe ever---and was in perfect position to go at the pin for another par or birdie with my most trusted wedge. I was licking my chops. Somehow, I blew it and ended up in the greenside bunker. Damn! Bogied the rest of the round, but still happy with the back nine. However, was not happy with driving most of the day. Got in lots of trouble. Seemed to be going left more than usual. But, hit it fairly long. Feel like some of my distance is coming back, finally, after the surgery.
28 putts for the round. Not bad.
