Played with Keith and a hot player, Scott, who bombed the ball easily 300 yards off the tee and played from the tips/blacks. He was a bit intimidating, at least to start. I was uncomfortable on the first hole. I hit a pretty good drive, but was easily 30 yards short of him and my tees were 30 yards forward of his. Shanked my 91 approach, then chipped on and over the green. Then another poor chip back on and two putts for a double to start. Started to settle down after finding the green off the tee on the 2nd, when Scott missed long and right. I parred the hole. He doubled. On third, had some bad luck on my 2nd shot on the par 5 after a good drive. Hit a 3H just slightly right of fairway about 190 yards. However, it found it's way onto the uphill cart path and rolled back towards me about 165 yds. Net gain=25 yds. That hole ended in double. 3 holes, two doubles so far. Things were better for the next 4 holes before another double on 8 after hitting drive into fairway bunker, then getting out and into the next bunker. Tough front nine. Played the back no better. I attribute the poor round to the snail's pace at which the course was moving today. Much more waiting than playing. Not good for your rhythm. Nor is rushing after the group ahead finally clears, but the group behind is now waiting on you. Not a fun way to play golf. I hate slow play and there was plenty of that today.
