Really nice day. Sunny, high 60s-low 70s. Only issue was course was wet and it was cart path only, which cost me at least 2 shots by having the wrong clubs with me when I got to the ball. Played with Keith and Ben. Another Keith joined us on the back, then went on to play an extra nine with us after this round.
Game is still in limbo. Hit the ball straight off the tee the entire round. Hit 100 percent of fairways, though on 3rd, got a helpful kick off boundry fence, back into fairway. Ended up parring that hole as a result. Otherwise, kept the ball in the short grass by decent swings all day. However, distance is still quite bland. Had some pretty decent drives, but nothing really long, for me. The course was very wet though, which added to the lack of distance. Again, on the range before the round, was able to hit sweet little baby draws over and over, yet only one of two on course.
Iron play was not as sharp as it has been. Shanked one on 5th which got me in trouble, then thinned one on 6 which also resulted in double. A couple others throughout the round were a touch fat, which lost me 10 or 15 yards. Otherwise, I played fine. Just couldn't score again. Putts burning edges left and right, all round. More three putts. Came up short on many lags. Like 5 or 6 feet short. Getting very frustrated with my scores of late. They should be better. How do you hit 100% fairways and only card an 87? I'm better than that. I think that is 5 87s in a row! The first couple I deserved. The last few, I played better than that.
Positives: Hit 4W pretty well off deck today. Fairways hit percentage.
Negatives: Putting. Sketchy iron play today. Low % GIRs
