Had been hoping to play 18, but didn't have a tee time and the course was packed. So decided to practice. Worked on my new iron swing and driver on the range and was hitting it so well just couldn't pass up playing 9 when the first tee opened up about 5 o'clock. Hit a great drive, then had 93 yards to the pin. That has been a 52 degree wedge, but since the new swing set up, been hitting all irons longer, so went with 56* and put it pin high. Parred it. On 2nd, I started the waiting game as I caught up with the masses. Decided after hitting my 5H over the green that maybe I should just make this a practice round and play a bunch of different shots on each hole rather than be sitting on the butts of the foursome in front. Quit after 9. There was no way I could get in 18 at the pace the course was playing. Went back to the range and hit a 15-20 4Hs and 8 irons. It just felt so good to be striking the ball so well that I didn't want to quit. Went over into the rough and hit more, all very well. Was easily getting 140 carry with 8i, even from rough. Hit a few about 150 or so and all right on line. Really struck the ball well most of the day. Very happy with iron play. Have to keep that up. Putting pretty well today by staying down after the stroke, never looking at the ball till it is long on its way. Have been very consistent with both speed and line of late. Now I need to put it all together and play a good round.
