Ben & Richie. Cold. Course wet. No distance again. Don't think I hit one drive that rolled out more than a couple feet. Ball mark was virtually right next to ball on nearly every drive. Tough to make greens in regulation like that.
Hit the ball fairly consistently all day. Only one or two not so great swings. Otherwise, wasn't a bad day.
Played that new MG C4 ball. Same one the entire round. I think I liked it, but until I can play it in above 65* conditions, I'll reserve my review of it. I will say it was good around the greens.
Made a 25 foot putt on 16th to save par. Thought I might be looking at double until I hit the putt and knew it was gonna be good.
Had trouble in bunker on 6th. I have been playing bunkers really well most of the year, so was not worried that the bunker looked like heavy wet, packed down sand. I have that shot. Unfortunately, what I could not see was the layer of shale literally sitting 1/2" under the sand. My club broke it into pieces, but was left with a huge scrape on the bottom of the sole. Pissed me off. Bladed the ball as a result of the bounce off the shale, into the bank. For the hell of it, dropped another in a different part of the bunker and sure enough, bounced off shale again.
Coulda, shoulda, woulda been a nice round the way I was swinging today if it had been 70 degrees and the ground was hard.
