Freakin' cold! Snow flurries from time to time during the round. About 35* to start. Never warmed at all. Fingers were numb. Too many layers of clothes. Played with Ben. Finished all 18 in 2 1/2 hours, in spite of it being cart path only. Driver a little shaky at times, but kept it in the fairway for the most part. Hit a pretty good drive on 14th. A few other good ones too, but overall, between the layers of extra clothing, cold enough temps to snow, frozen fingers and wet landing areas, distance wasn't very good today.
Reached green on 3rd with nice approach, of which rolled onto the front of the green tracking at the pin. Thought I had a chance at bird. However when I got to the green, I found that it somehow got caught in the left front gully on the green which sets you up to fail. It rolled off and down into the left side collection area. Chip and 2-putt bogey instead.
On 9th, after Ben hit hybrid just past the pin I thought I would go down to a 5i. Hit it flush right at the pin, but landed just past, and due to the half frozen greens, bounced and rolled all the way to the back. 3-putt bogey. At least I hit the green.
Short drive on 11th left me a long way out, with no eyeball on pin. Walked up to see where it was, then walked back with eye on aim point. Clubbed up due to cold and hit it to 2 feet for bird. Shot of the day for me.
Rain forecast for tomorrow. Hopeful I'll be able to play, but glad I got this one in, just in case.
