First round of 2013. Played with Keith and Ben. Picked up Michael from Trumbull, on the 2nd nine. With a a lot of snow still on the ground at home, we went south and played in Bridgeport, which surprisingly opened today. We walked it, which made things quite tough by the 2nd nine. There are some tough hills there. Started play on the back nine. Conditions were very muddy, balls flew no distance and when they landed, stopped. Fog was so thick at times that having any idea where to play the ball was not possible. Having never played this course before, I was clueless at times. Even so, I played pretty well considering the conditions. Only one double, and another hole I had to take penalty. (Went wide right off the tee into an unplayable position on 5th). Otherwise, I kept the ball in decent position all day, chipped well, saved some pars and was happy with the outcome. Only downside was lack of distance all day, due to the temps, which were in the 40s. Not a bad start to 2013.
