Cold and Windy. Wind chill in the 30s. In Florida for Christ's sake! Another tough day with 20-25 mph winds. No distance again, but hit the ball very well off the tee again. Feel about 30 yards short. Hoping no wind and warmer temps will bring back my distance. Even drives that felt awesome were woefully short. But, all clubs were very short. Used 6 iron for 135 yard shot and came up short, even though I hit it flush. It was very disheartening to make good contact all day, but get so beat up on distance.
Greens were extremely fast. Lost a few strokes putting for sure due to speed. Very happy with driver ball flight all day, but wind was a killer. Struck ball cleanly with most iron and hybrid shots. One bad 4W with cut spin got caught up in the wind and into the drink on 9th. Chipping okay, but some trouble judging distance off Bermuda. Had a weak 60-degree wedge attempt from a close-to-greenside waste bunker which I should have practiced by testing the sand with a couple wedge swings through the sand to know what to expect, but forgot it was a waste bunker. So never grounded my club. As a result, had no idea how much or little sand to take. Came up way too short. Could have easily chipped it on if I used my head. Hindsight is 20-20.
Overall, loved playing this course again. Maybe again next week, if the wind calms down and the temps go up.
Some discomfort even after three Advil to start. Iced right shoulder and left inguinal ligament after I got home.
