Keith and I played against Ben and Richie. We gave them 2 strokes a side. They won 2 up. They got a ton of lucky bounces. We got none. Richie sunk two long putts---one over 6o feet---on holes he didn't seem to have a chance to win. We played okay, but missed some putts and got some bad breaks on well hit shots. We were two down on the front, but I made par on 8th after having to take an unplayable as my drive ended up in the left lateral hazard. Though I could get a club on it, I elected to take the unplayable with hopes of a much better lie. The drop didn't end with a great lie but was still able to move the ball enough to get within 170 of the hole. Then hit a 5 iron to two feet for a par save. Should have been a bird. Either way we were then one down and I pulled a par on the ninth as well with a 190 yard tee shot that trickled off the back, and a chip to 3 feet. So we squared the front. Couldn't pull it off on the back though. Bladed a flop shot on 15 over the green and down the steep embankment into non-playable foliage. Another unplayable penalty and flop back up onto the green, but was basically out of the hole at that point. Funny thing was, my 4W drive on the 15th was the only one of the four that found the fairway and the best of the bunch. Golf's a funny game.
