Mike and Richie. Played okay. Parred 1 and 2. Felt good. Then was frustrated on 3rd after good drive hit fairway on sidehill area and bounced hard left into lateral. Had to drop in rough. Then hit 4w into lateral on other side. No drop necessary, as I was able to punch it back into fairway from inside hazard line. Ended with double. Then went on bogey train. Was in a couple fairway bunkers on 5 and 6, with no chance to get home in reg as a result. Got off the train with two good up and downs on 8 and 9.
Played a little better on back, but as usual, 15 got me again for double even though I tried to play it conservatively. Left driver in the bag and hit what seemed like a good 4W off tee, pretty straight, but it somehow bounced funny in fairway and caught right side fairway bunker. Decided to then lay up short of hazard because of lie in bunker not allowing me to use less lofted club to clear lip and safely get over hazard. Had 95 yards to hazard. Pulled 56*. Hit it 80 yards, but the hard bounce resulted in 100 yards (into the hazard that I was laying up from!). Penalty drop, pitching wedge on, but 2 putt for double. Frustrating.
Great drive and approach on 18 ended with a nice par finish.
